Paintball, A Climate Change Novel

by Peter Brickwood
(Ontario, Canada)

Before Greta galvanized the world’s youth to take action on climate change there were many individuals and groups struggling to be heard.

This is the story of a young man who, by himself, protests climate change in a peculiarly personal way. He also wants to move a church from an island being flooded because of climate change to an inland hilltop. Gradually he collects a group of friends to help him.

Forced to relocate from an island that will soon be flooded by rising sea levels, a community wants to keep its Church. Gus draws a group of climate activists into the effort to transport the hundred year old building inland, on trucks, to be placed on a foundation at the hilltop location of the new village. Along the way friendships are formed and hope is inspired by their youngest member.
