Hydrochlorofluorocarbons are compounds consisting of hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, and carbon atoms.Although hydrochlorofluorocarbons are ozone depleting substances, they are less powerful at destroying the ozone layer than chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).In fact, these compounds were temporarily used as alternatives to CFCs.Furthermore, hydrochlorofluorocarbons are greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.
