Scariest aspect of climate change?

What part of climate change is the scariest aspect to think about in terms of the future?

Answer:

Currently, I would say that the scariest aspect of climate change would be the inevitable wars for natural resources that would follow.

For instance, due to changes in precipitation patterns, desertification and melting of glaciers, there will be a lack of freshwater for the world population. If just the Himalayas alone melt away, nearly a billion people will face a freshwater crisis. Today, people in the country of Yemen (in the Middle East) are killing each other for a few liters of freshwater. In decades from now, it will be much more severe and in more countries around the world.

Moreover, climate change has an impact on agriculture by adding more floods, more droughts, more heat waves, more storms, mass desertification and rising sea levels. In addition, with a growing population (now 7 billion people), there will be dire consequences as nations will fight one another for food.

Needless to say, nearly all effects of climate change are scary and may be scarier to some people. For example, if you are from New Orleans, the fact that climate change will bring forth more hurricanes and stronger hurricanes is probably the scariest. However, if you are from Central Africa, the fact that the Sahara Desert is growing due to desertification or the fact that lakes are disappearing (such as Lake Chad) are the scariest aspects.
