Please help us spread the sasrai-Movement which is aimed at sustaining a habitable Earth.

Dear madam/sir,

Greetings from the sasrai-Movement, an organisation that works voluntarily since 2004 across the globe and aimed at promoting prudent and sustainable consumption and conservation, encouraging the optimum use of resources, and reducing the abuse of resources.

This movement has the goal to animate/activate each individual, family, community, institution, and organization to combat global warming, food and water shortages, fossil fuels, poverty, disasters, waste, and the destruction of the ecosystem and its biodiversity.

Essentially, it aims at reversing the current destructive trends seen across the globe.

On a side note, the sasair-movement implements the goals of the United Nations Millennium Declaration by bringing into focus 6 MDGs, 9 time-bound targets and 31 quantitative indicators.

The Global Threat of Our Time

At a speech in Berlin, American president Barack Obama has said that climate change is the global threat of our time as severe storms, great famines, massive floods, and significant sea level rise will ensue.

In addition, UNSG said that climate change “is a humanitarian issue, a development issue, and an issue of security and stability.”

In the IPCC’s 5th Assessment Report, scientists urged governments to take action as a disrupted climate can have severe impacts on people via sea level rise, ocean acidification, aggravated droughts, wildfires, increased storm severity and flooding. Without doubt, those natural disasters will grow more severe unless we start reducing global warming pollution, not tomorrow, but now.

President Obama also remarked, "We have to all shoulder the responsibility for keeping the planet habitable, or we're going to suffer the consequences—together."

IPS - Special Issue on COP18 Doha Climate Change Conference 29 Nov, Dec 07, 2012 - stated that unsustainable human consumption and production systems are driving changes in average temperatures and weather patterns, in which “abnormal” is increasingly becoming the norm.

Millions of Refugees Around the World

In 2012, 32 million people in 82 countries were displaced by climate and weather-related disasters, nearly twice as many as in 2011, according to the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre. Unfortunately, this number is expected to only increase as climate change intensifies.

In truth, our relentless and careless consumption in today’s world acts as the driving force for untenable production which causes changes in temperature and weather patterns.

This leads to a hotter world with more starving people. When people are starving, they become desperate, even in the millions.

Desperate people do desperate things: they riot, they fight over food, they overthrow governments, and the mass will migrate to food-secure countries.

Confronting the Growing Threat of Climate Change

Let us protect nature for the next generation, maintain peace, and ensure rights for all.

Also, we need to reserve, preserve, rejuvenate and conserve resources.
Moreover, we need to achieve a significant change in mindset, behavior and attitude in order to combat the climate crisis, reduce risk & poverty, save biodiversity, and help achieve peace for humanity.

How do we achieve these goals? In essence, we need to work locally but serve globally. Together, we can achieve a sustainable world and obtain environmental justice.

What You Can Do

Let’s have zeal to self-tune and be committed to save resources and reduce food waste in our daily living - no matter how small it is.

Please:
  • Let your voice be heard from every corner across the globe
  • Save a drop of water daily, during all water related activities
  • Plant at least one native tree annually at your own home or community
  • Let’s not waste a single particle of food
  • Let’s not waste a single particle of any resource
  • Keep off electric appliances one minute daily
  • Suspend travel by personal car once a day
  • Keep at least one day a week luxury free
  • Do not throw away waste wherever you like
  • No more junk food
  • Buy items made from recycled materials
  • Save one minute to think about climate change and the environment
  • Reduce carbon dioxide emissions wherever and whenever possible
Our volunteers demand your kind contemplation to spread sasrai across the globe effectively. Please help spread the word about climate change.

humans are obsessed with plastic
by: Anonymous

Dear SM Farid Uddin,

We humans are obsessed with plastic. Over 300 million tons are produced every year to make plastic bags, bottles, clothes, computers, and just about everything else you can think of.

And the problem is only getting worse. Over the last 10 years, we’ve produced more plastic than we did in the entire 20th century!

Take the pledge to cut down on your plastic use today!
Here’s the thing: our excessive plastic use is hurting the environment. For one, the production of this plastic is responsible for millions of tons of greenhouse gas emissions, accelerating climate change and polluting the air we breathe.

On top of that, some of this plastic ends up in landfills, where it slowly breaks down, leaching harmful chemicals into the soil and groundwater. The rest of the plastic ends up on our streets, in our parks, and in our oceans. Over 100,000 marine animals and 1 million birds die each year from ingesting plastic.

Recycling is one way we can reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in our landfills and in our natural environment, but—given the excessive amount of plastic we consume--recycling simply can’t keep up. We need to reduce the amount of plastic we use!

How can we accomplish this? We can start by avoiding disposable bags, bottles, silverware, dishes and other single-use products, and replacing them with reusable items.

Join us by pledging to reduce the amount of disposable plastic products that you use. The more people that make the pledge, the bigger the impact we’ll have.

Thanks for your support.

Sandy Anniversary
by: Anonymous

Dear Climate Champion,

For those of us living in the United States, today marks the one-year anniversary of a storm that changed the lives and communities of so many.

We're using today to recognize the millions being affected by climate change all over the world and the billions of dollars being spent to clean up the mess it leaves behind.

And today, we hope you'll speak up about solutions to the problem that fuels extreme weather like typhoons in the Philippines ... severe flooding in Bangladesh ... unprecedented drought in African countries ... and so much more: climate change.

But one year later, what needs to be done? People need to hear that there are solutions to climate change. So today, please share one thing you want our national leaders to do to stop climate change on Twitter or Facebook.

We know man-made climate change is happening thanks to carbon pollution, and we know how to start solving it with a price on carbon and a shift to renewable energy. Meanwhile, extreme weather events continue to occur with increasingly devastating results.

So today, as we remember the deadliest and most costly hurricane the Atlantic saw in 2012, as well as countless storms all over the world that have taken lives and torn apart communities, we must also think about what we need to do to stop it.

We need your voice to make sure our leaders hear us loud and clear: climate change is solvable, and we need shared solutions to prevent its continued human and financial toll.

Show the world -- and our leaders -- that there are solutions to climate change and that we can't wait any longer for them to be implemented. Share your thoughts on Twitter or Facebook.

Yours in solidarity,

The Climate Reality Team

Subject: sasrai theme presentation among garments worker aimed at habitable earth

Dear Sir
Greetings from sasrai-Movement that works voluntarily since 2004 across the globe aimed at promote prudent and sustainable consumption and conservation, optimum use and reduce the abuse of resources. sasrai target to animate, activate each individual, family, community, institution, organization to Combat Climate Change, global warming, food, fuel, water, poverty, disaster, waste, ecosystem, biodiversity - finally reverse the devastating trend of globe. Road map towards the implementation of the United Nations Millennium Declaration - sasrai brings into focus Six MDGs, 09 time-bound targets and 31 quantitative indicators.

Please be informed `Food Waste Awareness Week in New York’ placed within few days. Across the GLOBE we need to start `RESOURCE WASTE AWARENES’ that named sasrai-Movement.

USA President has said the global threat of our time severe storms, Famine and floods, Coastlines vanish, Oceans rise and Climate change."We have to all shoulder the responsibility for keeping the planet habitable, or we're going to suffer the consequences—together." UNSG said climate change “is a humanitarian issue, a development issue, and an issue of security and stability.”

The absolute truth for today’s world the careless consumption driving untenable production that driving changes in average temperatures and weather patterns that breeds Hotter World and that’s the Hungry World. And hungry world will contribute hundreds of millions of desperate people. Desperate people do desperate things: They riot, they fight over food, they overthrow governments, and they mass migrate to more food-secure countries. Chinese President Appeals to the Nation “build a thrifty society”, that sasrai Voice since 2004.
Bangladesh is the country most vulnerable to Climate Crisis. Minimum 50 million people will force to evacuate their home. Best Climate Practice should start each corner of globe with the theme ` save a bit, reserve, preserve, rejuvenate and conserve resources.’
While saving one liter water, one minute gas or electricity saving here and there may not seem like much; but when it multiplied millions of times can make a huge impact. Dissemination of sasrai message among the industry worker specially garments worker that could contribute lot for our total environment. It will also contribute in waste reduction in the factory level, workers daily life leading.
Our earnest request to you has initiative to disseminate sasrai idea among all working force in the industry in Bangladesh. We do believe our dialogue with the factory labor will contribute to build a harmonic relation between worker and management.
